Harnessing the Power of the People
Mission, Vision, & Goals
CORDUSA - Global Network’s Mission is to facilitate participatory, integrated, and sustainable change for marginalized communities through self-developed, self-driven, holistic programs.
CORDUSA - Global Network’s Vision is to share human resources to break down barriers across the world so communities can realize their own potential.
The goals are to help people across the world become change agents in their own communities and to support the rural development work of CORD in India and CORD Sri Lanka.
The CORD Difference
CORD’s programs make communities self-reliant, using the expertise of the people themselves to create change. The uniqueness of the model rests on making the marginalized communities equal partners, rather than just facilitating projects. These initiatives are developed and driven by the people.
Further, to ensure the success of its model, CORD puts women and children at its core.
CORDUSA's Global Network serves all people regardless of race, religion, gender, identity, or nationality. The goal is to facilitate integrated, sustainable social programs in local communities through processes of self-empowerment.
This is the spirit of Seva in its true essence: where everyone is nourished and uplifted through the work and the community thrives because of it.
The 4 Pillars of CORD
The people develop and drive the programs
Programs are holistic and address all facets of people's lives
Instead of replicating existing programs, we network with organizations to fill in gaps in services
Programs don't depend on us to continue; people become their own change agents in the community
“The entire destiny of our life lies in our own hands. We can rebuild our own future.”
